Fuels and Lubricants Technology Department

SwRI has operated the U.S. Army TARDEC Fuels and Lubricants Research Facility (TFLRF) since 1957. TFLRF functions as an extension of the U.S. Army Tank Automotive Research Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC), Force Projection Technology Business Area in Warren, Michigan. TFLRF is augmented by the Institute's diverse staff and modern facilities. TFLRF conducts fuels and lubricants research for the Army, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, other government agencies such as DARPA, and commercial clients. The capabilities of TFLRF range from fundamental investigations to field validation testing and rapid response problem solving.
