Department Capabilities
The Intelligent Systems Department in the Automation and Data Systems Division applies system design and software engineering skills to the specification, design, and development of integrated, interconnected "smart" transportation and information systems. Intelligent Systems is composed of a number of technologies including information processing, communications, control, and electronics. Intelligent Systems has experience in the four major subsystems identified in the national intelligent transportation systems architecture:
