Geochemistry and fluid flow services for the oil and gas industry are offered at Southwest Research Institute.

Geochemistry services technical strengths at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) include:

  • Experimental and modeling studies of ion exchange and sorption processes

  • Prediction of thermodynamic properties of high ionic strength mixed electrolyte solutions

  • Fate and transport of technologically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive materials (TENORM) (technical flyer)

  • Determination of zeolite solubilities, sorption and cation exchange properties, and surfactant modification response

  • Reaction pathway and reactive transport modeling of gas water rock systems

  • Measurements of mineral solubilities and thermodynamic properties

  • Implementation of NEPA (National Environmental Policy Act) process:

    • Provide environmental impact assessment

    • Review and preparation of environmental impact statements, environmental assessments, and categorical exclusions
